David Akiyoshi is a second-generation winemaker located in Lodi, California. In David’s words; “The craft of winemaking requires an almost meditative state because it requires focusing all of your senses to fully experience wine. Elementally, wines speak with a soft voice and your mind has to be willing to listen.”
2022 Naked Wines Legacy Winemaker Videos
In 2022, I produced a series of legacy winemaker videos for Naked Wines. These videos highlighted some of the 80+ winemakers who had held a longer tenure with the brand. Each winemaker stood out by their expertise and was highly relevant to the consumers as they had a strong heritage of winemaking history and held several wine awards both with Naked Wines and before.
This video features David Akiyoshi, a second-generation winemaker of Japanese descent. Once the Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi’s Woodbridge for 25 years, David now spends his days leading the winemaking efforts with LangeTwins Winery in Lodi, CA, and produces a variety of vintages for Naked Wines.
Due to David’s complex background and history, we needed to produce a video that highlights who David is as a person, and what views he holds most firmly as a second-generation winemaker, all the while wrapping that context in a strong story of connection with Naked Wines brand. – These videos were produced primarily for social media and brand-related content provided directly to Naked Wines customers.
